The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie 2 Community Hall in Mpuluzi to render companies towards the community.

SASSA might be rendering companies including new social grant applications, change of payment method, client care enquiries, together with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In an announcement, the agency said it can be alarmed in regards to the large number of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The aim in the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to sassa reach-out to a large range of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This really is due to lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no totally functional office dedicated to service the area on a regular basis. The company stage developed for intervention encounters a substantial inflow of probable beneficiaries, that makes it tricky for that office to attend to all people who check out a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise additional methods to permit the servicing of all buyers and raise use of Social Assistance companies,” the agency said.
